Online Chinese Sellers are taking ‘iPhone 5’ Pre-Orders!
Chinese largest e-commerce site, Taobao, are known to have already started taking the pre-orders for the unreleased and unannounced ‘iPhone 5’.
Sellers on Taobao, a unit of Alibaba Group, are accepting orders for the iPhone 5, in some cases asking for a deposit of 1,000 yuan ($160) for the new phone. One seller, “Dahai99888”, who started accepting pre-orders this week, is asking for full payment upfront, at a cool 6,999 yuan ($1,100).
The sellers have planned to buy the devices in bulk in Hong Kong or United States after the release and then bring it back to the mainland China. One seller has already taken two dozen orders and says the ‘demand is high’.
Already the cases for the unreleased iPhone are being sold on the Alibaba.com. Reuters are also assured that the cases are accurate.
It is much expected that Apple will release its next generation iPhone in September/October.
